Please choose ONE of the Natalie Diaz poems from When My Brother Was an Aztec that we have discussed for your reflection. Note, I am not including "Reservation Grass" and "My Brother at 3AM" because we discussed them so recently. You will, however, find links or a PDF containing the other six poems that we discussed in class under the "News" tab. Once you have decided on your ONE poem, answer the following question in your reflection: What lines in this poem really speak to you about the subject matter addressed by the author? Assignment length: 1-11/2 pages (Should be at least 2-3 well-developed paragraphs) Format: MLA format for left and right-margin headings; double-spaced 12 pt. New Times Roman. Please include a Works Cited page. You will find the publication details for the book in the PDF of poems under the "News" tab. Quotes: You should have at least two short quotes from the poem included in your reflection. Remember, the titles of poems are contained in quotation marks. Also, poems are quoted by line number, NOT page number. Example: In her poem "Reservation Grass," Diaz makes the statement that "We smoke more grass than we ever promise to plant" (1). Example if you are quoting two lines of poetry and need to use a poetic slash to indicate the line break: In her poem "Reservation Grass," Diaz makes the statement that "We smoke more grass than we ever promise to plant. / Our front yards are green and brown, triangles of glass" (1-2).
