The final research proposal should be a minimum of 17 pages in length
(double-spaced, 12 point font, default margins) not including your bibliography
and appendices, and will include updated versions of your earlier work, as well
as an introduction and conclusion. In order, your proposal should include the
following elements:
· An
introduction (minimum 2 pages) in which you introduce your topic, pose your
research question(s) and any hypotheses (the latter is optional), briefly
discuss the social significance of your research topic, and outline your
overall research plan.
· Your
review of literature (minimum 5 pages)
· Your
description of methods (minimum 4 pages)
· Your
data analysis plan (minimum 2 pages)
· Your
discussion of ethics (minimum 2 pages)
· Your
conclusion, including a summation of your research plan, your interest in future
related research, and a description of where and how you would disseminate your
research findings (minimum 2 pages)
· Your
bibliography (numbered, alphabetical by first author’s last name) including all
sources used in your literature review, and any other part of your proposal.
Any academic citation style is acceptable (ASA, MLA, APA, etc), provided you
use it consistently.
· Your
appendix or appendices, labeled Appendix A, Appendix B, etc, on separate pages
for each appendix.
