The Purpose of a "Reflection Comment": Reflective writing is where you reflect on the meaning and importance of something. In such writing, you (a) describe what you learned about an issue, (b) interpret (judge) what you think is most important based on what you learned, and (c) consider the possible implications, impact, or outcome of the information you have learned. Topic Area 1: Cultural Beliefs (based on information in chapter 4 & lectures) Reflect and comment on the following question: What was the most interesting/important information you learned about in this topic area that increased your understanding of adolescents -- describe what you learned (be specific) [4 points] and explain why you thought this information was especially interesting [3 points]. INSTRUCTIONS: Your reflection comment should be a short scholarly discussion (not based on personal experiences). Use your own words when describing what you have learned. Format & Length: Double-spaced, 1-inch margins, 12 point, Times New Roman. The length of your reflection comment should be about 100 words (or roughly 10 written lines).
